Community Support

Nisenan Heritage Month is an offering of true history, culturally significant content about the Ancestral Homelands of the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe, the land fed by the Bear and Yuba River watersheds.

This month is an opportunity for us all to be in the learning together about who and what has shaped the lands we call home. This month is also a fundraising effort to support and uplift the work of CHIRP in its mission to Preserve, Protect and Perpetuate Nisenan Culture. The road to Federal Recognition and ultimately Tribal Sovereignty and Cultural revitalization is long. We count on community support to raise visibility and awareness about the Tribe and CHIRP.
