Nisenan Cultural Reclamation Corridor

Our partners are key in raising the visibility of the Tribe. Working with The Sierra Fund, CHIRP now has 32 acres of property fronting Deer Creek in Nevada City. Before the Champion and Providence Mines brought millions of dollars in gold out of the ground, this land housed the Nisenan. And, in a strange and wonderful turn of events, the Tribe now has access to this special land again.

NCRC will be home to Tribal and Cultural education projects and will always remain open-space for the plants and wildlife that live there and rely on it for passage between different landscapes. Learn more here.
